BRIDGE REOPENED TO THRU TRAFFIC FOR 2-3 WEEKS STARTING: Friday, June 24, 2022
Bridge closure will resume in approximately 2-3 weeks for continued rehabilitation work to take place.
PROJECT END DATE: End of August 2022
PROJECT: Walton Road Bridge 2022 rehabilitation project. The bridge rehabilitation related activities will provide continued life and use of the Walton Road Bridge over the St Joseph River. For the safety of crews and the traveling public, at times the bridge will be closed for construction. The public is requested to seek alternative routes or utilize the official detour route during road closure/construction.
Traffic Restrictions: Walton Road Bridge has reopened to thru traffic temporarily. The bridge will resume being closed to thru traffic in approximately 2-3 weeks. The entire bridge project is anticipated to be completed by the end of August 2022 (weather and work dependent.)
Detour Route During Closure: Walton Road to US-31 to Niles-Buchanan Road.
When bridge closure resumes in approximately 2-3 weeks, traffic is required to seek alternative routes or utilize the signed detour route.
