SCHEDULE FOR 8/17/2020:
Two oversized caravan planned for transport along John Beers Road on Monday, 8/17/2020, approximately between 10am and 1pm. A WB caravan is expected between approximately 10am and noon (going from M-139 to I-94). An EB caravan is expected between approximately 11am and 1pm (going from I-94 to M-139).
SCHEDULE FOR 8/18/2020:
Two oversized caravans planned for transport along John Beers Road on Tuesday, 8/18/2020, approximately between 10am and 3pm. A WB caravan is expected between approximately 10am and noon (going from M-139 to I-94). An EB caravan is expected between approximately 1pm and 3pm (going from I-94 to M-139). This EB caravan will be moving more slowly than previous loads due to load weight, the caravan will be pausing at bridges/structures located along the transportation route.

TRANSPORTATION OF GENERATOR COMPONENTS SET FOR JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER ALONG JOHN BEERS ROAD

FIRST TRAVEL DATE: Tuesday, July 21st 2020
END TRAVEL DATE: End of September 2020
OVERSIZED LOAD TRANSPORTATION: Drivers should expect some delays along John Beers Road this summer. Large generator components will be transported through Berrien County to the Niles Gas Power Plant. These super loads will result in stopping or slowing traffic along their route.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: John Beers Road between I-94 to M-139 will see temporary closures for super load moves. These oversized loads move very slowly and will take up both lanes of John Beers Road. The public should anticipate road closures and delays when oversized loads are being transported.
Oversized moves will take place Monday through Friday between 9am and 3:30pm. Moves will not occur during inclement weather. As confirmation of these dates and timeline of their arrival to the county road network is known, updates will be posted online.
Pilot vehicles will be escorting the oversized loads and state law enforcement will be assisting with traffic control during operation. The Road Department advises that any motorists or public in the area during these moves to drive cautiously and heed all directions from law enforcement and road escorts.
