Possible Paw Paw River County Park Land Acquisition
The Berrien County Parks Commission is seeking public comments on potentially acquiring land for Paw Paw River County Park. Berrien County Parks is considering acquiring 62.87 acres adjacent to Paw Paw River County Park, tax code 112100230002034 located at 0, Watervliet Township, Watervliet, MI 49098. Citizens who want to comment are asked to attend a meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Love Creek County Park & Nature Center, 9292 Huckleberry Road, Berrien Center. (Love Creek Nature Center is ADA compliant for citizens with disabilities.)
The Parks Commission plans to seek a grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund for this land acquisition. Proposed improvements include hiking trails, fishing opportunities, wild life viewing and other outdoor recreation opportunities. The improvements are listed as a priority in the commission’s current five year parks and recreation plan.
