Application Support
The Application Support Group is divided into four areas, all of which provide system analysis, programming, and support for the County applications under their realm of responsibility.
The Administration/Fiscal group is responsible for the following automated county systems:
- Fiscal: Accounting, Purchasing, Budgets
- Employees: Personnel, Payroll, Pension
- Land:
- Delinquent property taxes
- Drains
- Equalization
- Local property taxes
- Planning/Land Description
- Register of Deeds
- Tax Appraisal
- Animal Control: Licensing, Complaints
- Clerk Indexing:
- Assumed name certificates
- Births
- Campaign finance
- Co-partnership certificates
- Concealed weapons permits
- Deaths
- Genealogy
- Marriages (affidavits and licenses)
- Military Discharge records
- Notary licenses
- Oath of office
- Veterans
The Justice group is responsible for the Sheriff's Department, the Prosecutors Office, Trial Court (District Court, Circuit Court, Juvenile Court, Probate Court), Clerk of the Court, and Felony Probation applications which include:
- Civil: Small Claims, Landlord Tenancy, Divorce, Personal Protection Orders, General Civil
- Criminal: Felony, Misdemeanor, Civil Infraction
- Friend of the Court
- Juvenile: Delinquency
- Probate: Estate, Protective Proceedings, Mental Health, Adoption, Guardianship
- Traffic: Misdemeanor, Civil Infraction
Tax Applications is involved with all thirty 39 local municipalities within Berrien County and other County departments with property tax related duties to support tax related programs, tax appraisal and other applications. The Tax Applications area maintains the property and tax records for each municipality.
This group is responsible for assisting with integrating data from various systems to provide our customers with the means for quick data access and analysis. Workshops and individualized training sessions are also offered as needed.
