Application Process:

If applying for a job at the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, please read the Employment Requirements

Berrien County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Applications must be in the Personnel Department by close of business on the day of the deadline. Applications are accepted by mail, fax, in person, or online. 

All applications are reviewed by the hiring department. The hiring department will decide which candidates to interview and will contact the applicant directly if selected for an interview. For questions regarding the application process call 269-982-8616.

If access to a computer is an obstacle, you may pick up a hard copy of the application in person at the Personnel Department located at 701 Main St, St. Joseph, MI 49085 or click here for the printable PDF version of the Employment Application. Completed applications can be dropped off or mailed to the aforementioned address. 

Note: Applications are not kept on file. Each open position must be applied for separately with a new application and tracking sheet. Copies are acceptable.
