The Berrien County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) have an important role in protecting both their communities and emergency responders if a chemical release emergency happens. LEPC members shall include representatives from different groups and organizations, as described in Section 301(c). A single member may represent more than one of the below groups or organizations. Likewise, a group may be representative by more than one member. LEPCs include representatives from the following groups and organizations: Elected Officials, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Firefighting, First Aid and Health, Local Environmental, Hospitals, Transportation, Broadcast and Media, Community Groups, Regulated Facilities, Tribal, Education, and Agriculture.
