The County Clerk's Elections Division oversees all elections conducted in Berrien County including school elections. This division also monitors campaign finance law for county and local candidates and officeholders.

November 2018 - Passage of "Promote the Vote" Brings Changes to Election Law - What is Prop 3?

Proposal 3 was a constitutional amendment that passed in November 2018. This amendment made changes to election law, Chief among them are:

  • Providing voters the option to vote a straight-party ballot.

  • Allowing citizens to register to vote by mail until 15 days before an election and up to 8:00 pm Election Day at their local clerk's office with proof of residency.

  • Allows for all registered voters to vote absentee without needing to provide a reason
