  • Boy Scouts: some local troops collect newspaper as a fundraiser. Contact a local Boy Scout Troop to inquire.
  • Curbside Recycling Programs: often accept paper for recycling. Please note which kind of paper is accepted in which program. Not all paper is accepted in each program. See CURBSIDE RECYCLING in this guide.
  • Drop-off Recycling Program: often accept paper for recycling. Not all paper is accepted at each site - pay attention to signage at each site to find out what kind of paper is accepted. See DROP-OFF RECYCLING in this guide.

Document Shredding

  • Green Earth Electronics Recycling: accepts paper documents for shredding, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding holidays. Call for service fee. 269-326-1232. Located at 3621 Tennis Court, St. Joseph. 
  • Southeast Berrien County Landfill Special Recycling Event Days: the Landfill Authority sponsors an on-site document shredding truck at the Recycling Center, at 3200 Chamberlain Rd., Buchanan in May and October during the Household Chemical and Electronics Recycling Collections.  These events run 8 a.m. to 12 Noon. 
  • Integra Secure Document and Shredding Service: www.integrashred.com. 800-292-7836. Will be at the Southeast Berrien County Landfill Recycle Center on Saturday, May 21, 2016 AND Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 8 a.m. to Noon for on-site, free shredding for residents.  This community shredding event takes place during the Household Chemical and Electronics Recycling collection - learn more by clicking HERE
  • Kent Record Management, Inc.: 1994 Plaza Dr., Benton Harbor. 926-4100. Document shredding services. Call first for details. Performs a number of community shredding events in the County throughout the year.
  • Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library: 500 Market St., St. Joseph. 983-7167. Personal document shredding machine on-site and open to the public. See front desk for user information.
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Day @ Lake MI College in Benton Harbor: Kent Record Management will shred documents from RESIDENTS ONLY only the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Day event in April.  Service donated by Kent Record Management.
