Used Motor Oil

Used motor oil contains heavy metals and hydrocarbons like benzene. Used oil does not belong in the trash nor should it be dumped on the ground because it may cause contamination to the soil and groundwater.

Many of these places will accept used oil filters, as well. Inquire at each location.

• Berrien County Household Hazardous Waste Collections: used motor oil is accepted at the county sponsored collections. There is a fee for large quantities.  See HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE collections in this guide for a list of collection dates and locations.
• Bob Cooper Chevrolet, Inc.: 8716 US 31, Berrien Springs. 473-4651. Accepts used oil, please contact Service Manager M-F 8-5pm.
• Crystal Flash: Paw Paw. 800-622-8972 or 269-657-7755. Pick-up serivce for large quantities - call for details.
• Southeast Berrien County Landfill Recycle Station: 3200 Chamberlain Road, Buchanan, 695-2500. More information about this drop-off site can be found under DROP-OFF RECYCLING in this guide.

Used Cooking Oil
