Mercury Items

When transporting a mercury thermometer or thermostat to any of the following drop-off locations, you must place it in a zip-lockable baggie, seal it, and then place that inside another zip-lockable baggie, and seal it.

  • Household Chemical Collections: accepts mercury fever thermometers, household thermostats that contain mercury, elemental mercury that is properly contained in an unbreakable container, and other mercury items for Berrien County residents. See HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE collections in this guide for a list of collection dates and locations.
  • Boelke Heating and Air Conditioning: 1119 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville. 429-9261. Accepts mercury thermostats.
