• Clothes Horse: 4524 Lake Street, Bridgman. 465-6787. Accepts designer and brand name clothing and accessories on consignment. 
• Comcare: 2619 N. 5th St., Niles. 929-8987. Accepts reusable, genty used household items in good condition.
• Emergency Shelter: 645 Pipestone Road, Benton Harbor. 925-1131. Hours: Anytime, but call first if possible. Accepts towels, sheets, blankets, baby items, and personal care products.  
• Everybody's Everything: 1523 Niles Avenue, St. Joseph. 983-3276. Store Hours: Mon, Tues, Thur 11:30 - 5:00 and Fri, Sat 11:30 - 3:00. Accepts funky, antique, vintage clothing and costumes for resale.
• Freecycle: www.freecycle.org, website to help local people reduce and keep good items out of the landfill.
• Goodwill: accepts gently used clothing, household goods, toys, small appliances, cars and other vehicles. Donations are tax deductible and can be dropped off at any Goodwill retail stores listed below.

Items NOT Accepted at Goodwill: Large appliances (stoves, freezers), furniture in poor condition/in need of repair, food and perishable product, used automotive parts, tires, batteries, stained or torn bed springs/mattresses.

• Harbor Habitat ReStore: 2302 Plaza Dr, Benton Harbor. 927-0006, Web Site www.harborhabitat.org. Accepts paint, new or used recyclable flooring, doors, windows, carpeting, electrical, plumbing materials, roofing materials, lighting, kitchen and bath fixtures and appliances.  Items must be in great and reusable condition and in working order. Call or go on-line for business hours and donation drop-off and pick-up service information.
• Kids' Kollection: 2542 S. Cleveland Avenue, St. Joseph. 983-0321. Store Hours: Mon - Fri 10:00 - 6:00 and Sat 10:00 - 3:00 Accepts on consignment toys, clothing, books, shoes, coats, etc. for newborn through teen as well as baby equipment and maternity clothing.
• Kirby's Thrift Store: Thrift Store: 1386 Mall Dr., Benton Harbor. 757-7462. Store Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-7pm, Sun 12pm-5pm.
• Lighthouse Attic Resale Shop: 4150 N. Roosevelt, Rd., Suite 3, Stevensville. 428-3940. Store Hours: Mon - Sat 10:00 - 5:00. Accepts gently used clothing for men, women and children; household items, furniture, books and baby items.
• Mosaic Resale & Resource Center: 510 W. Main St., Benton Harbor. 925-9925. Accepts everything except large appliances.
• Neighbor to Neighbor: 9147 U.S. 31 North, Berrien Springs. 471-7411. Store Hours: Tue & Thu 10am - 6pm; Donations accepted Mon - Thu 9am - 5pm. Accepts clothing, non-perishable food, books, small appliances, kitchen items, furniture, bedding, fabric and craft supplies.
• Nuway Thrift Store: 3131 S. 11th Street, Niles. 684-7665. Store Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5:50pm and Sat 9am-4:50pm. Accepts clothing and household items; no large appliances or waterbeds.
• Parritt's Trading Post: 1768 M-139, Benton Harbor. 926-6732. Store Hours: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 10am-5pm; Wed Noon-6pm; Sat 10am-4pm. Buy and sell household items (no clothes or appliances).
• Salvation Army Thrift Store: Donation drop box at 424 N. 15th St., Niles. 684-2660. Accepts new or gently used clothing, furniture and household goods.
• Six Degrees Resale Shop:205 W. Main St., Benton Harbor. 927-6060. Benefits the Emergency Shelter, Inc.. Accepts new or like-new kitchen and household items, furniture, working appliances, jewelry, antiques, bedding and linens, books, clothes, and more. Drop off items at the store. Call to arrange pickups.  
• World Mission Thrift Store: 1804 M-139, Benton Harbor. 927-4134. Store Hours: Mon - Sat 10:00 - 6:00. Sat 10am - 5pm. Accepts clothing and household items.

— Second hand stores, pawn shops, antique stores & garage sales are great places to sell unwanted items or buy used items at low prices.
— Renting equipment that you may only use occasionally is a great way reduce waste in the long run, conserve space in the garage, and save money.
