The mission of the Berrien County Veterans Services office is to serve as a centralization point which is exclusively mandated with the responsibility to assist veterans and dependants with federal and state benefits. This service-oriented philosophy of operation is fully sensitized to the needs, problems, and desires of the veteran.
The primary functions of the Veterans Services office are to be knowledgeable of all facets of VA benefits and provide assistance to the veteran when developing and filing a claim. In addition, the office processes applications for county burial benefits and emergency monetary assistance as mandated by the State of Michigan. The office also maintains an active outreach program, informing area veterans' organizations of the services rendered.
